Australian student visa subclass 500 is intended for those who have genuine intention to come to Australia for study.
Although collectively called student visa, student visa contains several sectors or streams. Different level students may be classified as different stream of students visa. For example, a highschool student visa is different from a PhD student visa.

STUDENT VISA 500
Student visa allows applicants (students) to stay and study in Australia as a full-time student. Depending on your background and level of study, this visa category is subdivided into different streams for various levels of studies, such as school stream, vocational stream or higher education stream etc.
STUDENT VISA 590
This student guardian visa allows you (usually a parent of the student) to stay in Australia as a guardian of the student who is under 18 years of age. This visa can allow the applicant to stay until the child is 18 years old. Normally only one parent of the family is allowed to apply for this visa to accompany the child to study.
THE AGE REQUIREMENT FOR STUDENT VISA 500
f you want to apply as school student, you must be aged 6 or older to apply for this visa.
You must also be:
- less than 17 years old when you begin Year 9
- less than 18 years old when you begin Year 10
- less than 19 years old when you begin Year 11
- less than 20 years old when you begin Year 12
