You will need to pay a visa application charge (VAC) to the Australian government when you apply for your first student visa.Family members who are included in your application will also need to a VAC.
Currently (May 2020) the Australian Home Affairs Department’s VACs for a student visa are as follows:

The Home Affairs Department’s VAC is subject to change. You may check the changes at the Department’s website at here.
If you are renewing your second student visa onshore in Australia, you may be charged a subsequent temporary application fee of A$700.
In addition to application fees, applicants are subject to other related costs such as medical examination checks, overseas police clearance or document translation etc. at your own costs.
