Visa Costs

You will need to pay a visa application charge (VAC) to the Australian government when you apply for your first student visa.  Family members who are included in your application will also need to a VAC.

Currently (July 2023) the Australian Home Affairs Department’s VACs for a student visa are as follows:

If you are renewing your second student visa onshore in Australia, you may be charged a subsequent temporary application fee of A$700. 

In addition to application fees, applicants are subject to other related costs such as medical examination checks, overseas police clearance or document translation etc. at your own costs.
